These stainless steel heaters are manufactured using fine heater element wire, helically wound and supported in a ceramic support tube to give maximum heat transfer to the outer shell. The element is hermetically sealed for moisture protection at the cable exit and the 300mm conductors are either glass fibre or Teflon® coated, dependant on size of heater selected. As the surface temperature of the heater can reach a maximum of 650°C, cartridge heaters should be mounted in a reamed hole for maximum surface to surface contact. A temperature sensor mounted close to the bottom 1/3 of the precision drilled or reamed hole will ensure excellent temperature control and heater life.
